Payel Sarkar is one of the leading Bengali actresses in Tollywood film industry. She proved her talent in both small screen and Bengali films.

She completed her Grduation from Jadavpur University with History Honours.

She appeared on the cover page of Bengali magazine ‘Unish-Kuri’.

At the beginning of her career she used to do Television and short roles in films. She appeared in a couple of Bengali films earlier ‘Bibar’ and ‘Sudhu Tumi’. But finally she came into notice when her Bengali film “I Love You’ released. Bengali actor Dev was also in this film (at that time he was not much famous). The movie was hit and Tollywood got two new superstars. Payel Sarkar appeared in “Cross Connection’ and her acting was appreciated. Then she appeared in Bengali movie ‘Prem Amar’ with Bengali actor Sohom and the film also became a big hit. After the major box office success of that film there was no looking back. Then she appeared in another block buster hit movie ‘Le Chhakka’. Her film ‘Le Halua Le’ was also a hit film.

She appeared in another big hit ‘Bojhena Se Bojhena’ Payel Sarkar is now one of the busiest actresses in Tollwyood. Recently she is busy with her new movies like ‘Bawali Unlimited’, ‘Ekti Sharay Golpo’.
