Payel Sarkar was born in Kolkata is an Indian Bengali actress who acted in Bengali cinema and Hindi Television serials.

Payel Sarkar is one of the popular Bengali actresses in Tollywood. She worked in few Hindi television serials.

She passed Graduation from Jadavpur University with History Honours in 2004.

She was cover page model in very popular Bengali teen magazine ‘Unish-Kuri’.

When she in college, she acted in few Tele-films.

In the beginning of her career Payel Sarkar acted in Bengali films like ‘Bibar’, ‘Sudhu Tumi’. But she came into focus when her Bengali movie ‘I Love You’ released. She played the lead role of the heroine in this movie. In this movie she acted with Bengali star Dev. The movie was a big hit. Then she appeared in few more Bengali movies like ‘Cross Connection’, ‘Prem Amar’. These movies were also big hits. In the movie ‘Prem Amar’ she acted with Bengali actor Sohom. ‘Prem Amar’ made some box office records and made Payel Sarkar one of the most successful and popular film actresses in Bengali cinema. Then she did “Le Chhakka’ directed by Raj Chakraborty. The movie was very successful in box office.
