Ananya Chatterjee is a renowned Bengali Film and Television actress. She started her acting career as a Television actress. She acted in numerous Bengali Television serials. Some of her TV serials are “Din Pratidin”, “Tithir Atithi”, “Aleya” etc.

Later Ananya Chatterjee gradually established herself on big screen also. Ananya Chatterjee has acted in a number of Bengali films. But her biggest achievement is ‘National Award’. She got ‘National Film Award’ for Best Actress for her performance in the Bengali movie ‘Abohoman’ directed by famous Bengali film director Rituparno Ghosh.

Ananya Chatterjee was born and brought up in Kolkata. She completed her schooling from ‘G.D. Birla Centre for Education’ and completed her graduation from Jogmaya Devi Collage, Kolkata.

She did not have any formal training in acting. She was a student in Mamata Shankar’s dance institution. She acted in a number of Tele-Films. Three of them were directed by Anjan Dutta.

Ananya Chatterjee appeared opposite Soumitra Chatterjee in the movie ‘Dwando’ in 2009. She got appreciation for her performance in Bengali movies. But when the movie “Abohoman’ released, Ananya Chatterjee established herself as an actress of repute and won the National Film Award for Best Actress. After that she appeared in the movie ‘Meghe Dhaka Tara”.

“Subornalata” is one of her most popular Bengali Tele-Serials.
